Come and Gone

September has somehow come and gone. School has been in for over a month now and all is well there. No one signed up to be Matayia's room mother so I became it by default. This is a new thing for me but hopefully it will be a good experience, Matayia says she is looking forward to me coming to her class so I better take advantage of that while I can.

The month started off with a really cold camping trip for Labor Day with the whole Anderson family. Yes, it was cold but I don't think that the kids even noticed. Matayia and Kaitlyn always seem to have fun with their cousins. Kaitlyn and Bryn are becoming great friends they are so cute together. The trip was great for us in our trailer we are always looking for another excuse to take it out. But those without a trailer (everyone else) were definitely frustrated by the toilet and water situation,(they worked off and on)I was once again glad to have a trailer!

We always thought when we had kids that we would spend more time at home, but that has never happened. A few days after we got home from camping Greg and I headed off to Seattle. Greg is a die hard BYU fan and we followed them to Washington to show our support. The game was great, I even had a good time. But it always helps when you favorite team wins in a tight game, The final score was 27 to 28 with BYU winning. We are always looking for a good excuse to get back to Seattle(Greg served his mission there)and the game was a great excuse.

After the eventful game we spent a few days out on Whidbey Island. We had never been to this island before, and we were not disappointed, it was beautiful. I think we were the only people visiting or living on the island that were under 55, it was a little funny. We came onto the island by driving over deception pass and after two great days together we left the island by ferry. We decided we need to figure out how we can be on vacation for the rest of our lives because we always have so much fun together. We missed our girls and at times wished they were there, but knew they were having a great time with Aunt Melissa!

Seattle is such a fun place to visit, I always enjoy Pike's Market. I can't seem to go to Seattle without going there each time. I love the beautiful, beautiful flowers I always want to buy some but, can't quite figure out how to get them home, So every time I just look.

Everything there is so pleasing to the eye, all the fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade knick knacks and even the fish. You can never leave Seattle without enjoying Pike's Market and eating a few bowls of clam chowder.

The month of September also brought another first for Kaitlyn, her first day of DANCE! She has been begging to go to dance for a long time. Whenever Matayia left for dance Kaitlyn would cry and want to go with her, so we decided to try it.
On her first day she was so excited to go, but when we got there that changed real fast. The crying started immediately, but her teacher was so patient with her. It has taken us three weeks to get her to go without crying, but finally today she ran in the door and yelled good-bye. I was so happy to see when I came back to get her she has a had a good time even without me!

Summer is almost over and all the neighbor kids are trting to take advantage of the good weather while it is still here. There are always kids outside playing and Kaitlyn wants to be out there all of the time. It is painful for Matayia to do her homework when she gets home from school because all she wants to do is be "outside playing with her friends" We are very thankful for the neighbor kids, they are such good little friends!!
