Easter 2011

The Weather was cold, The eggs were plentiful, and Easter has come and gone once more.

I Learned....

I learned that if you post a few pictures of your husband and ask him to write about them on the blog. He won't, he will tell you he doesn't know how. But if you drop everything your doing that exact moment. And get him to where he needs to start typeing, in less than a minute, he will do it. Why doesn't this seem to work with cleaning the tub??

Century Ride #1

If only the entire day was this nice!!! By the way, this is Greg, not Megan. My brother, Wade and I decided to register for the St George Century Ride, which is a 100 mile ride through the St George area. We started out at 8:00 AM with temps in the 30's in a light misty rain. Everybody there felt the same as we did that we were all just a little bit die hard to be out in weather like this. But the money was paid and all non refundable so off we went with the other 150 riders. We headed east out through Washington and past Coral Canyon Golf Club, and then down past Sand Hollow and into Hurricane. About this time is when it started to snow on us. To make matters worse I got a flat. Changing a flat tire in a snow storm really makes a guy cold. I got that one changed and to make matters worse, 15 minutes later I got a second flat. And to add to that I think that I was pre-hypothermic. I had some uncontrolled shaking that I couldn't make go away. I was thinking that I might need to pull out of the race. I decided to give my tire one more shot. So I changed it and put some duck tape between the tube and the tire where I was getting the flats. That did the trick and I was able to continue on.



Shortly after mile 50 the weather started to improve a bit and the sun began to peak through the clouds a little. But still cold for St George. We pressed on and I was feeling good about being able to finish despite most of the elevation gain in head of us. At about mile 63 we came to another rest stop where we were told that all riders needed to turn around due to snow packed roads in Veyo. At that point we only had about another 7 miles of climbing with most of the remaining 30 on a downhill grade. A little disappointed we turned around for the last 10 miles back into St George to the finish line. In these pictures we had just removed our jackets for the photos. I learned a couple of things on my first century ride. Don't register for a ride until the weather for ride day is known. And you can wear a full on Walmart poncho on a bike in a wind storm. I wish that I would have had a camera to take a picture of that guy. All in all we had a good time and I am already looking forward to the next....if my wife will let me. Love ya babe!!

Ooops!!

She looks so innocent and sweet, don't be fooled. Avery has learned a new trick, grabbing anything that is even close to with in her reach. She is even perfecting the long long reach. The other night I had her on the bar while I was making dinner for the girls and I set my glass of milk just a little too close. And before I knew it,



yep, it was all over the floor!! And of coarse her two big sisters thought this was so funny. What they don't know is their world as they know it, is about to be turned upside down by Avery's new need to move. Haha!

What??

So while visiting one of my friends the other day, Avery had a major blowout. The kind that you just throw away the onesie because its not worth cleaning. So Candace had a extra yellow onesie that we put on Avery but when we went to leave for a walk Avery needed a jacket, so little Radley let her borrow one of his. When we got home I couldn't help but snap a picture. So since I don't think I will ever have a little Anderson boy, I thought I should document what it would look like if I did.

I don't know, I still don't think she could pass for a boy!!

Beach Day

Before we left sunny California we just had to spend a day at the beach. Sand in any form always seem to be a hit with my kids. The weather was beautiful, nice enough for the kids to run around in their swimsuits, but still not quite warm enough for a whole body dip. The girls had a great time building sand castles, Exploring the tidal pool for shells and crabs, And Kaitlyn did a few handstands. That girl doesn't seem to stay upright very often these days.

A beach day was so nice, but it made it a little extra hard to come back to the winter here in Utah!!

Guess Who?

I was looking through some pictures and came across this one. So many people comment on how all of our girls look the same, So Guess Who?

SeaWorld

On Thursday we took a Disney break and headed down to Sea world. Though the weather was cold (much colder than I had expected) the girls seemed to have a good time. I remember seeing Shamu when I was a kid, and I want to give my girls the same experience.

We watched the Shamu show. Which had definitely been scaled down since the last time we were there,



We held some starfish, Hoping that our hands wouldn't fall off because the water was so cold.



We fed the Sea Lions, who were so so funny. They were so loud when you tried to feed them. We had a really good time there, and all laughed real hard.





The Shark tank was a big hit even though Kaitlyn seemed to be a little scared (who blames her they are scary) We then enjoyed the Sea lion show. And a new one for me, watched "pets Rule" where they had all kinds of trained pets (I never knew a cat could be trained) I was disappointed that the dolphin show was not going. Because in years past this was one of my favorites.

Though Sea World is sometimes anti climatic to me as an adult I know my kids always enjoy it.

I have a habit of trying to recreate pictures when we revisit somewhere. Some of these pictures were planned, some were not. But either way I like to see how my kids have changed. (and me too)
