I can still remember going to Disneyland with my cousins when I was little. I have such great memories of riding rides with them and enjoying every minute of such a magical place. I am so glad that my kids are able to create such great memories with their cousins too. It was so fun to watch the "first timers" enjoy this together with the people that they love.
We started out by dropping Avery off in Logan so that she could enjoy a little time with Grandma and Melissa. (She didn't meet the 5 year old criteria for this trip) while I was dropping of Avery I got a call from Kaitlyns preschool teacher telling me that Kaitlyn was sick and I needed to come and get her. So I called Greg who had to leave work to pick up our sick kid while I hurried home from Logan. I will admit I was really worried that we were going to have a rough go at Disneyland with a sick Kaitlyn. And I was so relieved when we woke up in St George the next day with Kaitlyn feeling just fine, jumping around like normal. We headed to Las Vegas to kill a couple of hours at the Outlets and of coarse couldn't miss M&M world. We then continued on to California Saturday night. After we checked into our hotel we stood on the balcony and watched the fireworks over Disneyland from our balcony. ( we stayed right across the street) This only built the excitement for the next day and i was surprised when my kids actually fell asleep that night.
Sunday morning we got up and went to church and then headed over to the park for the afternoon and evening. The weather was nice, but it was a little busy. (to be expected on a Weekend) It was nice to spend a little time with just our little family. I knew after the cousins got there, I was no longer going to be cool. So it was nice to ride rides with my kids for an afternoon.
We let Kaitlyn pick the first ride and yes, she choose the Merry Go Round. (She obviously didn't know what else there was to choose from yet) I gladly sat this one out. I got dizzy just watching them.
I really wanted to watch the firework and the fantasmic show. Last time we came we missed both so this time it was a must for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks, I think it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. (not surprised, it's Disney after all) After the fireworks were over Kaitlyn was tuckered so Greg took her back to the hotel to go to bed. Matayia and I stayed and watched the Fantasmic show, which we really enjoyed. I almost went ang got Kailtyn out of bed so she could see the 10:30 show. We had given Mayayia the speech about, this being Kaitlyns trip, So it was really nice for me to be able to stay in the park with Matayia that night and spend some time with just her. We finally headed back to the hotel about 11:30, to get some sleep.
